Ok, i have what is titled as a 95 Assembled bike, rigid frame, evo style engine with S&S cases, and carb, and a 4 speed ratchet top kicker tranny, with electric start. i was told the tranny was out of a 75 shovel. i want to change it to a 5 spd. keeping in mind this is an aftermarket frame am i in for a hell of an ordeal swapping it out. Oh it also is equipped with a BDL open primary, chain drive. Thanks

It's like this guy, have you heard the old saying "if you have to ask.." It's not that big of a deal for a seasoned wrench but for a newbe it would be a job, but how are you ever going to learn with out jumping in and trying? Talk to your local shop that you are going to be buying parts from (and you will buy some parts) and if they are willing to give advice the better off you will be.

Main thing is to keep a straight line from trans/front sprocket to rear sprocket. May have to have offset the sprockets depending on your frame and tire clearance issues. Wide tire (180mm and up)may require spacers on the primary side of the house. BDL should have instructions in the kit, and a 1-800 number should things get to a wrench throwing level.
